Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions regarding our cross-device file transfer scenarios.

What makes Textunnel different from cloud storage for these use cases?

Textunnel sends files using WebRTC or a broker fallback. Broker files are limited to 25 MiB, share links and folder packing to 256 MiB, and larger room files require supported disk saving. History and optional recovery use local browser storage.

Can I transfer files between devices running different operating systems?

Yes. Textunnel works natively across iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux inside any standard browser (Safari, Chrome, Edge, Firefox) with no app installations or Bluetooth pairing required.

Does Textunnel work when there is no internet connection?

A direct route may stay on a reachable local network, but the same Wi-Fi does not guarantee it. Check the route badge. Discovery, TURN and broker fallback can use internet services; VPN and guest-network isolation may prevent a direct connection.
